The Most Interesting Properties on Jitty This Week #2

👋 Hi friends,
We’re back with another edition of the most interesting properties on Jitty.
This week: antlers galore, a haunted castle with impeccable ceiling crests (shoutout to our boy 'Bloody Bruce') and the sleekest house in London, complete with a possibly imaginary water feature.
Enjoy!
Home of the week
Melton Mowbray
Never has a home been more evocative of a Charle Dickens novel. I can almost see the ghost of Jacob Marley. Please sir, can I have some more mahogany panelling.

Theme of the Week…Dutch Still Life
aka houses with some of that Old World Charm
Who needs artwork when you can have a tapestry? If it didn’t take a team of 10 several months to stitch by candlelight, I don’t want anything to do with it.

This home in Romney Marsh, Kent is a time warp. Click for the close ups.

Taxidermy. Busts. Oil-painted portraits. And the agent is called Butler & Stag. This house is basically their spirit animal.

Equal parts hunting lodge and Iron Maiden merch stand, with a contemporary twist. All antlers everything, and a home gym that you know has seen its fair share of squats and screaming.

Sculptural topiary? Tick. Swords? Tick. Ceiling crests? Tick. The ghost of ‘Bloody Bruce’ roaming the halls? Yes, also a tick (seriously, read the listing description). Hey, it might be haunted, but the details in this 16th-century St Andrews castle are too good not to snoop around.

Attention to heritage here is insane. Even the fan is on-brand!

Plot Twist of the Week
This house in London is the sleekest of the sleek. We spent a long time working out whether the equally sleek water feature was real. Go look and decide for yourself (and don’t forget to check out the horse lamp).

Have a great week and thanks for reading,
