"Somerset Road was our first home together and we've made many happy memories here. From hosting friends for dinner parties in the living area, watching the hot air balloons in summer go over our heads whilst lying in bed, or having Arnos Vale on your doorstep to walk around. Our favourite thing to do however, has to be watching the fireworks over the city during new year. It's great to open up the velux window in the bedroom, pop our heads out and just watch the sky light up."

The home

A stylish one-bedroom top floor flat located on Somerset Road in Knowle. The biggest selling point is the unique flat layout. On first entering the flat you're greeted by a large double height living room, with the bedroom on a mezzanine above the bathroom and kitchen. This living room is super bright and airy during the daytime, but the dark wooden beams and columns of the mezzanine provide a nice warmth to the space during the evening. The room features large brick walls on either side which we have used as a gallery wall, it is also south facing, so gets sun all throughout the day and is a wonderful area to host guests. At the rear of the property is the kitchen which has a view out to Arnos Vale, another unique quality of the home as this provides a peaceful back drop. The kitchen has plenty of storage with shelving units built into the alcoves and there's a dining space with enough room to fit 6 people, a bench for seating has been built into the corner. The bathroom has recently been renovated with all new fixtures and fittings including new flooring, tiling and walk in shower. Finally, the bedroom is in the upper level of the mezzanine, the bed is placed underneath the Velux window so that you can wake up to views of the sky and there is ample room for clothes storage.

Living in Knowle

Somerset Road is in the popular pocket of Victorian homes between Wells Road and Arnos Vale. One of the real benefits of this house is the amount and variety of parks and green spaces within a short distance. Arnos Vale Cemetery, Redcatch Park and Community Garden and Perretts Park The expansive Victoria Park and Callington Road Nature Reserve are also nearby, providing brilliant open spaces for the summer or for walking the dog all year round. The area is easily commutable from Bristol City Centre, approximately 30 minutes walk, a short cycle or bus journey down Wells Road. The area also has lots of amenities on the doorstep with Wells Road recently becoming home to more and more popular bars, cafes and restaurants. The Knowle Pub is just a short walk away and is a great spot for a Sunday lunch or a beer in the garden.
