Description

"I have loved living in my house in Ernestville Road, which is a very special little cul de sac. The neighbours are lovely and helpful (especially with cat feeding!). My little garden is a green oasis and fairy lit in the evening. It's ten minutes walk to Eastville Park, seven to my allotment and less than five to my local, the fantastic The Star pub!"

The home

A charming two-bedroom Victorian terrace with plenty of character, generous living space and a private southwest-facing rear garden. Retaining a lovely sense of its period, this is a home where original features and more contemporary touches sit comfortably alongside one another. From the entrance, the accommodation flows through two separate reception rooms, offering a useful degree of flexibility. The front living room is a particularly inviting space, centred around a characterful exposed brick fireplace and framed by a large bay window. Deep colours, timber detailing and built-in shelving give the room a warm, lived-in feel, while the original wooden floorboards add further character.

The adjoining dining room continues the period feel, with another exposed brick fireplace, wooden flooring and plenty of space for a generous dining table. Built-in storage and shelving add to the practicality, while the room provides a lovely setting for everything from relaxed family meals to entertaining friends. From here, a door leads through to the kitchen. The kitchen occupies the rear of the ground floor and has a homely feel, with timber cabinetry, tiled flooring, open shelving and a large window overlooking the garden. There is plenty of scope for the new owner to put their own stamp on the space, while the existing layout provides a practical amount of storage and workspace. Upstairs, there are two well-proportioned double bedrooms, both offering comfortable and versatile accommodation. The larger principal bedroom benefits from a broad outlook to the front, while the second bedroom overlooks the rear. A family bathroom completes the first floor, with a full-size bath, pedestal basin and WC, together with classic monochrome floor tiles and a large window providing natural light.

The outside space

Outside, the private southwest-facing rear garden is one of the property's real highlights. Mature planting, established borders, climbing greenery and paved seating areas create a wonderfully secluded space with a distinctly established feel. There is plenty of room to sit out, entertain or enjoy the afternoon and evening sun, with the mature planting giving the garden a sense of privacy that is increasingly difficult to find.
