Description

"We absolutely love our garden. The front of the house gives no indication that it's there, but the view pulls you through as soon as you step inside. All you can see is green, with the beautiful willow tree at the end catching the evening sun in its leaves. It's incredibly peaceful. Over the last 11 years, we've made so many memories: BBQs with friends, quiet coffees on the patio before work, and watching our young daughter race up and down the garden. It's been a wonderful house to call home."

The house

This beautiful two-bedroom Victorian terrace in Whitehall has been renovated over ten years, creating a more spacious and practical home while retaining its period character.

The living room at the front is a bright and comfortable space, with a bay window and plenty of room for a cosy living space or home office. To the rear, the double-storey extension has created a generous kitchen/diner with fitted storage, good natural light and lovely green views out onto the garden. The open-plan lay out of this large living space makes it ideal for both hosting & everyday living. A downstairs WC/cloakroom was also added enhancing the practicality of the ground floor.

Upstairs, the extension has created a larger master bedroom with plenty of space for wardrobes, furniture or a home office space - the views over the garden create a peaceful & bright feel. The second bedroom is also a good-sized double bedroom with ample storage space. The bathroom was moved to the centre of the house and has a vaulted ceiling with a Velux window, bringing in lots of natural light and making the bathroom feel more spacious.

The outside space

The south-facing garden is a highlight of the property. It is a really big outside space for the area which has been beautifully landscaped; a paved area immediately outside the house leads onto a long, established garden. There are mature trees & planting, including an apple tree & wild fruit bushes, a central path and a greenhouse, with plenty of space for outdoor dining, gardening and relaxing. It has a lovely green and private feel, while still being easy to maintain - towards the back there is ample space to have a small allotment or a garden studio. There is also rear access into the garden & non-permit parking availability by the back gate.

Living in Whitehall

Whitehall Road is situated in Whitehall, St George and the area has always been popular with families due to the popular Whitehall Primary school, whilst increasingly in high demand with young professionals in recent years. Whitehall Road has nice eateries including Bristol Spirit and venues like The Red Lion, and the Wackum Inn. Across the park is Church Road, which is home to a number of popular shops and cafes such as The Bristol Loaf/Native Vine, Southville Deli, Rubino Lounge, Prior & the Small City Bookshop and restaurants such as The Lock Up and pubs such as the Dark Horse and Old Stillage. St Marks Road in Easton is only a short walk away and also boasts a range of well-regarded venues such as No.12 Provisions and Bristol Sweet Mart. Este's and Garden of Easton, both in Easton, are also very close by. The proximity of the large, Victorian St George's Park is also a huge benefit to local residents and offers a great retreat from city life on a summer's day, with its lake, caf, library, bowling, tennis, play area and skate park. The sportier of the local residents can take advantage of the Whitehall Athletics Arena through Bristol and West AC who are based there. For those needing access away from Bristol, the property is very close to the Bristol to Bath Railway Path and just a short drive from Junction 2 of the M32, which in turn leads to the M4 and M5. Bristol Temple Meads train station is also just a short journey by car, bike or bus from the local Lawrence Hill Station. Regular buses serve both Whitehall Road and Church Road.
