Description

Situated in a stunning Victorian building, this exceptional 2 bedroom/ 2 bathroom flat of 678 square foot offers a unique opportunity for those seeking a blend of character and modern convenience. The property boasts a bright and airy ambience throughout, thanks to its large windows and french doors, and has it’s own South facing garden. Richborne Terrace is a quiet residential street set within a low traffic conservation zone, which is conveniently located near good transport links and a wealth of local amenities.

Within walking distance from the flat, there’s a huge selection of local shops, cafes, restaurants and other amenities nearby, including the award winning Canton Arms Pub, Fentiman Arms Pub and 'Little Portugal'. The popular Oval farmers' market, Kennington Park and the iconic site of the Oval Cricket Ground are within easy reach, as well as nearby Vauxhall with the bridge providing access to Pimlico, Westminster and Victoria. For transport, the property is a short walk from Oval Tube Station (Northern Line), Nine Elms Tube Station (Northern Line), Stockwell Tube Station (Northern and Victoria Line) and Vauxhall Tube and Overground Stations (Victoria Line, National Rail and a 24 hour bus service).

Some words from the owners:
What do you love most about your home/property?
The location, neighbourhood, size and layout. The location is perfect - a nice, quiet residential street with great shops, cafes and restaurants within a very short walk. There are several parks within easy walking distance. Access to both Oval and Vauxhall tube stations within a short walk enables travel across London quickly via both the Northern and Victoria lines, as well as South Western Rail from Vauxhall. While living there, my partner and I have usually walked to work- it is just 30 minutes from Westminster and about 45mins to an hour from Soho. There are also loads of buses. It is also an easy walk to nearby South London hubs like Kennington, Brixton, Camberwell and Clapham, as well as the new Battersea / Nine Elms development.

We have also loved the property itself. It is very quiet and has a peaceful, south-facing outdoors area. The space has a modern feel despite being in a Victorian Terrace. The living room / dining room space is great for entertaining, and it's nice to have a separate kitchen. The main bedroom is a great size and en-suite. The second bedroom makes a perfect study / spare bedroom with french doors onto the patio. Having two bathrooms is a great bonus when you have guests visiting / staying.

Why are you selling?
We have lived happily at our current property for 7 years. It was mine and my partner's first home together. We are now looking to move somewhere a little larger in the same area.

What do you love about the area?
As dog owners we love the proximity of several parks, but before that the main benefit of the area was the easy access to two tube lines (Victoria & Northern) as well as ability to walk to work in Westminster / London Bridge / Soho. There are lots of great cafes and restaurants in the area (Oval 24, Little Portugal, Liloos, Cable Cafe) as well as hair dressers, dentist, vet, pharmacy, and grocery shops (both supermarket chains and corner shops).

The community is friendly and held street parties during Covid and for the Queen's jubilee & King's coronation. It has always felt incredibly safe. There is a WhatsApp thread for the street where neighbours are always offering to help out by lending tools / giving away old furniture / take in parcels / etc.
