We instantly fell in love with the high ceilings and large windows that fill the flat with lots of light all year round, but what surprised us when we got here was how quiet and peaceful it is - being set back from the main roads means there is little noise even on weekday rush hours. We have some really great neighbours in the building, and are so lucky to have St. Georges Park right behind us - it's pretty much our back garden!

The home A thoughtfully decorated two bedroom ground-floor apartment in a desirable location. On entering the home there is a generous hallway with cloakroom storage, walking on is the first of two bathrooms in the home. The kitchen, dining and living space is next. The current owners have styled the space beautifully with vintage furniture pieces complimenting the modern kitchen design. The larger of the bedrooms to the rear of the apartment has an en-suite shower and WC. The other bedroom is currently used as a study and dressing area. There are large windows throughout the home, inviting in plenty of natural light and also showing views of the communal green space in the front of the building.

Outdoor space

Residents have access to a communal courtyard. Just opposite the building, there is a green space for the surrounding Hudds Vale Road community.

Living in St George

The Old Work House is tucked away on a quiet no-through road just off Plummers Hill, east of St George's Park and within easy reach of Church Road. St George's Park is one of the city's most popular green spaces, offering tennis courts, a caf, a skate park, and a lake. The area is home to independent shops, cafs, pubs, and restaurants, including Loaf, Red Church, and Orchard Caf. The much-loved Bristol Loaf and The Lock-Up are also staples of this vibrant community. For commuters, The Old Workhouse offers straightforward travel into Bristol City Centre by bus, bike, or car, while also being a short drive to Bath and the motorway network. From this side of the city, Bristol Temple Meads is only a short journey away.
