Description

"We have brought up both our children in this house, so we have lots of lovely family memories here. The girls school and nursery were within walking distance and this community is wonderful. We love the view from our attic bedroom over to the tower and fields. The Spar some across from us is amazing and looks after all the residents in the area, going way beyond for us all. We spend a lot of time at Greenbank cemetery walking our dog, or playing in the summer months."

The Home

Occupying a particularly sought-after position on one of Greenbank's most desirable streets, this handsome Victorian terrace is a beautifully balanced family home, combining generous proportions and period character with a series of thoughtful improvements made by the current owners.

Behind the attractive bay-fronted faade, the house unfolds with the kind of warmth and personality that makes it immediately feel like home. High ceilings, original fireplaces, stripped wooden floorboards and ornate cornicing provide a wonderful sense of period charm, while colourful decoration and contemporary finishes bring a more modern feel.

The principal reception room is a lovely space in which to settle, centred around a wood-burning stove and filled with natural light from the large sash bay window. From here, the accommodation flows through to a generous dining room, easily accommodating a large table and equally suited to relaxed family meals or evenings spent entertaining friends.

At the rear of the house, the impressive extended kitchen is undoubtedly the social heart of the home. Deep navy cabinetry is paired with quartz worktops, patterned splashbacks and a central island with breakfast bar seating, creating a kitchen that is as practical as it is characterful. Large rooflights flood the extension with daylight, while there is ample room for informal dining and everyday family life. French doors open directly onto the garden, making it particularly easy to spill outside during the warmer months.

Upstairs, three well-proportioned bedrooms provide plenty of flexibility for family life, guests or working from home. The family bathroom continues the house's individual style, with a freestanding bath and vibrant decorative tiling adding plenty of personality.

Above, a superb loft conversion provides an additional layer of versatility. Created by the current owners, this beautifully light space enjoys far-reaching rooftop views across Bristol and could work equally well as a principal bedroom, home office, studio or additional reception space. It is a fantastic room that can adapt as the needs of the household change.

The result is a home that has clearly been loved and carefully considered. Characterful without feeling overly formal, practical without compromising on style, and with plenty of space for both busy family life and entertaining, it feels very much at home in the creative and community-minded surroundings of Greenbank.

Outside

The rear garden is wonderfully private and enclosed, with a layout that strikes a lovely balance between entertaining, family life and easy maintenance.

Immediately outside the kitchen, a generous decked area creates a natural spot for morning coffee, outdoor dining or summer drinks with friends. Beyond this, the level lawn provides plenty of space for children to play, while raised planting beds and mature greenery bring colour, texture and a sense of seclusion.

With its sunny aspect and generous proportions, the garden feels like a genuine extension of the house rather than simply an outside space. It is the kind of garden that works just as well for a slow Sunday morning as it does for a busy summer gathering.
