La Route De La Haule, St Brelade
Floorplan & Rooms
Features
Description
Richmond is a beautifully renovated Victorian home offering over 1,600 sq ft of accommodation across four floors, with uninterrupted views over St Aubin’s Bay and the beach directly opposite.
The house combines period character with bright, modern interiors and is presented in excellent condition throughout. With three bedrooms, two bathrooms and two reception rooms, the flexible layout could suit a family, professionals working from home, or anyone wanting generous space for guests, hobbies or separate living areas. A recently installed log burner provides a lovely focal point during the winter months.
Arranging the accommodation across four floors gives each part of the house its own sense of space. The ground floor already has a bathroom, while the large utility room could potentially be adapted into a ground-floor bedroom if more flexible accommodation were needed in the future.
Alternatively, the rear utility area offers the potential to create a peaceful, secluded outdoor courtyard, subject to the necessary permissions. None of these changes is needed — Richmond is already a modern, comfortable and move-in-ready home — but the space gives a future owner options should they wish to make it their own.

Coastal living
Living at Richmond is about much more than the house itself. The beach is directly opposite, while the promenade and cycle path are outside the front door. St Aubin is a short walk away, with its harbour, cafés, restaurants and pubs, and it is possible to walk or cycle along the bay into St Helier.
The views are something we have never tired of. The tides change, boats come and go, the weather moves across the bay and the sunrises and sunsets can be spectacular. It is one of those homes where you naturally find yourself stopping to look out of the window.
Richmond sits on the coastal road, which is what places the beach, promenade and excellent bus links on the doorstep. Inside the house, road noise is far less noticeable than people often expect.

Parking and outdoor space
Secure rented parking spaces just a few steps away. The new buyer will have access to up to two private parking spaces at a cost of £150 per space pcm.
On-street parking is available around the corner from the side of the house, beyond the yellow line. There is also a public car park approximately one minute away on foot, where we have always been able to find a space. Parking is free during the winter months, after 5pm, on Sundays and bank holidays. During the chargeable summer period, it costs around half the price of town parking, with a reduced-rate season ticket and convenient payment through the PayByPhone app also available.
The location also makes it realistic to manage without relying on a car every day. Regular buses run nearby, St Aubin is within walking distance and the promenade provides a direct walking and cycling route into St Helier.
Although there is no conventional garden, the beach and promenade become part of everyday life here. Whether it is taking a cup of tea across to the benches, walking along the bay after work or heading into St Aubin for dinner, there is an enormous amount of outdoor space to enjoy as soon as you step outside.

Why we bought Richmond
When we began looking for a house, private parking and a garden were both on our list of absolute must-haves.
Then we walked into Richmond and completely fell in love with it. The views, the amount of space, the character and the ability to walk straight across to the beach or into St Aubin outweighed everything else.
During the seven years we have lived here, we have realised that the things we originally thought we could not compromise on were not actually the things that mattered most to us. Some of our favourite memories have been the simplest ones: watching the tides and boats from the window, walking along the promenade after work, taking a cup of tea across to the benches or going out in St Aubin without needing to take the car.
Richmond will not be the right house for everyone, but for someone looking for a spacious, characterful home and a lifestyle that is a little different from the norm, it has a great deal to offer. We very nearly dismissed it ourselves because it did not tick every box on paper, and we are incredibly glad that we came to see it.
Richmond is vacant, with no onward chain, and ready for its next owners to move straight in.
