Search by Photo (aka Reverse Image Search): A New Way to Find Homes

Search with a photo. Seriously.
You’ve probably described your dream home before. But have you ever shown one?
Starting today, Jitty lets you search for homes using a photo. Yes, an actual image. From your camera roll, Pinterest, AI render, or that house you walked past last weekend.
Upload it and we’ll find listings that look like it.
What can you upload?
A few examples:
- A Georgian doorway you spotted on a walk
- A Pinterest kitchen you’ve saved six times
- An AI-generated house you’ll never afford
- A listing you loved but lost
We’ll scan the market and find homes that match the look, not just the label.
Wisteria? Herringbone? Brutalist concrete? If it’s in the photo, we’ll pick it up.
How it works
Just upload any image.
You’ll see a new “Search by Photo” option in the Search tab - or click the camera icon on any listing photo to find similar ones.
You can also combine photo search with anything else on Jitty: price, travel time, square footage, interior features - even “no box rooms.”
What’s happening under the hood?
We use a custom AI model to compare your photo to millions of property images across the UK.
Technically:
- A multimodal embedding model maps your image against every listing
- We blend results from image + text using a harmonic mean (it beats reciprocal rank fusion)
- All photos are stored as content-addressable hashes — which you’ll spot in the URL
In short: it’s fast, it works and it doesn’t rely on agents tagging things correctly.
One last thing
We’ve built guardrails in so if someone tries uploading anything that’s not, well, a house, it won’t go anywhere near the model.

Search by Photo is live now.
Upload an image. Let Jitty do the rest. Because sometimes the right home isn’t something you describe - it’s something you’ve seen.
